Feb. 9, 2011: Theft from Auto: A resident of Brookwood Dr reported to Police that an unknown actor entered his 2005 Nissan Altima that was parked in the driveway and removed a Cannon Camera. The incident occurred sometime between 6:00 pm on Feb. 8 and 7:45 am on Feb 9, 2011. A second vehicle, a 2009 Chevy, which was also parked in the driveway, was entered but no items were reported missing.
Feb. 10, 2011: Possession of CDS Arrest: At 2:20 in the afternoon Patrols received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Burnett Tr. near Plymouth Ave. As officers arrived on scene witnesses reported that two teenage black males had fled on foot from a gray Volvo that had struck a parked Chevy Suburban. Ptl. Baez located and stopped two males walking on Courter Ave. and identified them as the driver and occupant of the grey Volvo. Jackson Roberts, 18, of Maplewood, was determined to be the passenger and found to be in possession of a folding knife and several small bags of marijuana and was placed under arrest. He was charged with Possession of a Weapon, Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting Arrest. The driver, a 17 year old from Maplewood, was taken to Headquarters where he was issued a number of motor vehicle summonses and turned over to a parent. Jackson received some minor facial injuries from the crash but refused medical attention and was not transported to the hospital.
Feb. 11, 2011: Robbery-A 15 year old Maplewood teenager was walking in the area of Boyden Ave and Gifford Ct. at about 8:30 pm when he was approached by three males on foot. One of the men produced a handgun and requested money from the victim. The victim turned over his cell phone but stated he didn’t have any money. The other two actors began to go through the victim’s pockets to search for cash but came up empty. The victim was told to leave and the three actors fled on Menzel Ave towards Union. Actor #1 was in possession of the handgun and is described as a dark skinned black male, 18-19 years of age, 6’ tall, black dread locks down to his shoulders and wearing a black Steep Tech North Face jacket and blue jeans with boots. Actor #2 is described as a medium skinned black male, 18 years old, thin build, 5’10” tall with short cut hair. He was wearing a red Steep Tech North Face jacket. The third actor is described as a dark skinned black male, 18-19 years old, about 5’11” tall, stocky build, with a black Steep Tech North face Jacket and a dark blue hoody. The victim was not injured in the incident and the only item taken was a Blackberry cell phone.
